ICC World Cup 2023 Most Wickets: Updated After Australia vs. New Zealand and the Netherlands vs. Bangladesh Match No.27 and 28

Today, it was a double trouble in the World Cup. Fans across the globe enjoyed two back-to-back showdowns. Both of them were thrilling. Two matches were scheduled to happen on October 28. The first match was scheduled between Australia vs. New Zealand from 10:30 in the morning. The second match was scheduled to happen from 2:30 PM between the Netherlands vs. Bangladesh. 

In the first match, Australia met New Zealand at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Initially, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first. David Warner scored 81 runs in 65 balls. Travis Head had a dreamy World Cup debut. He scored 109 runs in 67 balls. Glenn Maxwell scored a quick-fire 41 runs in 24 balls. They got all-out on 388 runs.

The Kiwi bowlers were on fire. Glenn Philips was extremely well. He picked up 3 wickets in 37 runs. Trent Boult took 3 wickets in 77 runs. Mitchell Santner took 2 wickets in 80 runs. Matt Henry took 1 wicket in 67 runs. Jemmy Neesham took 1 wicket. 

While batting in the second innings, New Zealand gave a decent start. Devon Conway has 28 runs in 17 balls. Rachin Ravindra played a knock of 116 runs in 89 balls. Daryl Mitchell scored an amazing half-century. Jemmy Neesham scored 58 in 39 balls. They ended up scoring 383 in the end.

Adam Zampa was again better with the balls. He picked up 3 wickets in 74 runs. Pat Cummins took 2 wickets and 66 runs. Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets and 70 runs. Glenn Maxwell took 1 wicket in 62 runs.  

In the Second match, the Netherlands and Bangladesh locked horns at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Initially, the Netherlands won the toss and decided to bat first. At first, the Netherlands didn’t start well. But Wesley Barresi played a knock of 41 runs in 41 balls. The Dutch skipper Scott Edwards scored 68 runs in 69 runs. In the end, they scored 229 runs. 

Bangladesh bowlers were extremely well. Mustafizur Rahman took 2 wickets in 36 runs. Mehidy Hasan took 2 wickets in 40 runs. Tanzid Ahmed picked up 2 wickets in 43 runs. Shoriful Islan took 2 wickets in 51 runs. Shakib Al Hasan took 1 wicket and 37 runs.

In the second innings, Litton Das got out early. They didn’t play well. Mehidy Hasan scored 35 runs in 40 balls. Mahmudullah scored 20 runs in 41 balls. Mustafizur Rahman scored 20 runs in 35 balls. 

The Dutch bowlers were extremely well. Paul van Meekran picked up 4 wickets in 23 balls. Bas de Leede took 2 wickets. Aryan Dutt, Logan van Beek, and Colin Ackermann picked up one each.

Australian bowlers are known for their extraordinary bowling. Adam Zampa was at the top for a few days. In the match against New Zealand, he picked up three wickets in 74 runs. Daryl Mitchell was his first success. He picked up Mitchell when he was batting on 54 runs. His second wicket was Tom Latham. Lastly, he took Mitchell Santner’s wicket. His economy rate in the match was 7.40.

Mitchell Santner was a terrific bowler for the Kiwi side. He took 2 wickets in 80 runs against Australia. Mitchell Marsh was his first wicket of the match. He picked him up on 36 runs.
