After winning the toss, India won the toss and decided to bat first. The pitch was not so easy to bat but Indian batters nailed it. Rhit set the base of India’s innings. He played a quick fire of 40 runs in 24 balls. He smashed 6 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. Virat Kohli was beyond the words. He played an unbeaten knock of 101 runs in 121 balls. His innings contained 10 boundaries. Shreyas’s responsible 77 runs knock helped India to reach a fighting total. After 50 overs, India ended on 326/5.

South African bowlers tried their best to dominate India. Lungi Ngidi took 1 wicket in 63 runs. Marco Jansen took 1 wicket in 94 runs. Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, and Tabriaz Shamsi took 1 wicket each. Aiden Markram was wicketless in the match.

In the second innings, It was a show of the Indian bowler’s dominance. They didn’t let the South African batters stand tall in front of them. Quinton de Kock got out on 5 runs. Skipper Temba Bavuma scored 11 runs in 19 balls. Rassie van der Dussen scored 13 runs in 32 balls. This was the highest score of the South African side.

After beating Sri Lanka, Indian bowlers were again outstanding. Ravindra Jadeja single-handedly side-lined the opponent. Jadeja took 5 wickets in 33 runs. Mohammad Shami took 2 wickets in 18 runs. Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2 wickets in 7 runs. Mohammed Siraj took 1 wicket in 11 runs. Jasprit Bumrah remained wicketless.

Mohammad Shami Comes Up:

It was a terrific performance by the bowlers. They made South Africa all out on 83 runs. Mohammad Shami took 2 wickets in 18 runs. South African star Rassie van der Dussen was his first wicket. Shami picked him up when he was in 13 runs. His next wicket was Aiden Markram. Markram got out by 9 runs. His economy rate in the match was 4.50. Shami is in the fourth position on the highest wicket-takers list with 16 wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja comes up:

Jadeja was the star of the show. He took five wickets and secured India’s win. His first wicket was South African skipper Temba Bavuma. Jadeja picked him up when he was on 11 runs. Heinrich Klaasen was his second wicket. He got out on 1 run. As his third wicket, he picked up David Miller in 11 runs. Keshav Maharaj got out on 7 runs in a terrific delivery of Jadeja. Kagiso Rabada was his last wicket. He took a total of 14 wickets till now in the World Cup.
