“I’m trying to be present” Travis Head Credits T20 Success to Perfect Positioning and Recent Experience.

The cricket world witnessed another classic T20 clash between England and Australia. The opening T20 match of the three-match T20 series was a pure thriller. While batting first, Travis Head played an exceptional knock. Head attributed his strong performance in T20s to consistently finding good positions to strike the ball effectively.

Explosive Innings of Head:

After a long, the arch-rivals are locking horns in a three-match T20I series. After defeating Scotland in their last played T20 series, Australia conquered into the tournament. They continued their destructive form in the first T20I match of the series. The entire Australian lineup was exceptionally good.

While opening the innings with Matthew Short, Travis Head was on explosive form. He scored a fabulous half-century only in 19 balls. He got another massive boost as he hit Sam Curran for 30 runs in the fifth over. He ended his innings scoring 59 runs in 23 balls with 8 boundaries and 4 over-boundaries.

After playing the innings, he said, “If they present opportunities to score, I’m trying to be present and ready to go and really still to access all the ground, which I felt like I did. I haven’t played a lot of T20 cricket until the last 12 months.”

Later he added, “Working on my game, a lot comes down to the technique and what I’m trying to achieve out of my swing. So I feel like I’m in really good positions to hit the ball.”

Over the Thrilling Opening Partnership:

While batting in the first innings, Head and Short made an incredible opening partnership. Along with Head’s explosive innings, Short also played a crucial role too. He played a fiery innings of 41 runs in 26 balls. This dynamic duo added 86 runs in the first powerplay.

After that, Head talked about that. He said, “The mantra at the top has stayed the same with some different personnel throughout, but I’ve built pretty relationships with all the guys and enjoy batting with all of them.”

Lastly, he added, “We complement each other in different ways; I thought ‘Shorty’ started exceptionally well with a matchup that he thought was right, and it gave me little bit extra time to get myself in and then was able to get away. So pleased with the way I was striking them, would have loved to have gone on with it, but I felt like we set pretty good platform for the boys behind us.”
