India Sets New T20I Record with Their Highest-Ever Score in the Third T20I Against Bangladesh

The thrilling third T20I match is exciting the cricket fans across the globe. After dominating the Bangladeshi side in the two-match Test series, Team India kept the domination alive in the T20I series. After taking the lead in the series by a 2-0 margin, both teams faced each other in the third T20I match in Hyderabad. While batting first in the encounter, Team India created history. India achieved their highest-ever T20I score, setting an impressive 297/6 in the third T20I.

Remarkable Performance by Team India:

Since the three-match T20I series started between India and Bangladesh, the Indian side showcased their dominating display. In the third T20I, they gave a flying start to their exceptional innings. After losing Abhishek Sharma’s wicket, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav gave a massive boost to India’s innings. In a tremendous display, Sanju Samson registered his first-ever T20I hundred in just 40 balls. 

He played an outstanding innings of 111 runs in 47 balls. He smashed 11 boundaries and 8 over-boundaries and batted with a strike rate of 236.17. Captain Suryakumar Yadav played an exceptional innings of 75 runs in just 35 balls. He smashed 8 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries with a strike rate of 214.29. 

After their dismissals, Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag played two quick-fire. Riyan played a thrilling knock of 34 runs only in 13 balls with 1 boundary and 4 over-boundaries. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya missed his well-deserved half-century just by 3 runs. He played a knock of 47 runs in 18 balls with 4 boundaries and 4 over-boundaries. With those exceptional knocks, Team India put on a massive total of 297/6.

Historic Milestone by Team India: 

With their spectacular performance, Team India reached a historic milestone. Their score of 297/6 is now the highest total recorded by a full-member nation in T20I history. Previously, Afghanistan held the record with a score of 278/3 against Ireland in 2019. India’s former best was 260/5 against Sri Lanka in 2017.

Additionally, India achieved the second-highest score in men’s T20I history. Last year, Nepal set the record with an incredible total of 314/3 against Mongolia. This remarkable feat by India not only showcases their batting prowess but also cements their place in T20I history.

While chasing the huge target, Bangladesh is trying hard to make an impact. In the first delivery of the second innings, young pacer Mayank Yadav dismissed Parvez Hossain Emon. After that, Washington Sundar secured the second wicket by dismissing Tanzid Hasan. Ravi Bishnoi sent the Bangladeshi skipper back in 14 runs. In the 9th over, Bangladesh is standing on 86/3.
