India Soars in WTC Standings, Bangladesh Plummets After Heavy Defeat in the First Test

After the World Test Championship entered the Test cricket arena, the longest format became more interesting. After two complete WTC cycles, the Test-playing nations are going through the third one. India returned to the Test format after a long. As they are facing Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, Team India registered a huge win of 280 runs in the first match. With this massive win, Team India got a huge boost in the WTC points table.

Team India’s Giant Victory Over Bangladesh:

After a long break from the longest format, Team India came back. On home soil, they are facing Bangladesh in a two-match Test series. As the first match of the series unfolded in Chennai, Team India thrashed Bangladesh in a huge victory of 280 runs. While batting in the first innings, Team India faced consecutive setbacks. 

After initially losing three wickets, they were under pressure. Standing in that position, Yashasvi Jaiswal played a responsible knock of 56 runs in 118 balls. But the Ashwin-Jadeja duo nailed the game. Aswin scored an outstanding century and Jadeja played a knock of 86 runs. In the first innings, Bangladeshi bowlers showcased excellence with the ball. Hasan Mahmud secured a fascinating five-wicket haul. Taskin Ahmed secured 3 crucial wickets.
