Indian Cricket Team Schedule for 2025 is here. 2024 has ended with the Indian team losing to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. However, the Indian team would be hoping to turn the tides in 2025 with a power-packed schedule.
2024 was a rather mixed year for the Indian Team. They won the T20 World Cup held in West Indies and the USA in June. Following this, the Indian team underwent a huge transition. Captain Rohit Sharma and stalwart Virat Kohli stepped down from the shortest format of the game. In coaching, former Team India batter Gautam Gambhir replaced Rahul Dravid as the team’s head coach.
However, this was also the year when Team India lost a Test Series at home after 12 years. India were clean-swept by New Zealand as they lost 3-0 to the Kiwis. Another setback for the Indian team was the ODI series loss to Sri Lanka, a rare feat in 27 long years.
As we check out Indian Cricket Team Schedule for 2025, there’s a lot of Cricket set to entertain the fans.
Team India Campaign for 2025
Team India will begin their campaign in 2025 with the final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Sydney. This Test is particularly important for the Indian Team because the fate of their World Test Championship final hangs on this game. If Rohit and co. lose this game, they’ll be out of contention for the WTC final.
The next series in India’s Schedule for 2025 will be against England. England will tour India from 22nd January to 12th February for a 5-match T20I series followed by a 3-match ODI series. This is likely to be in preparation for the Champions Trophy 2025, to be held in Dubai (for India only).
From March to May, the Indian players will be seen playing at one of the biggest cricket carnivals, the Indian Premier League. If qualified, the Indian team will play the final of the World Test Championship in June at Lord’s.
India will then begin their fourth World Test Championship Cycle with a 5-match away Test series against England. In August, the Indian Team will travel to Bangladesh for a 3-match ODI series, followed by two Tests against West Indies at home. In October, Team India will participate in the Asia Cup which will be held in the T20 format this year. Team India Schedule for 2025 will end with a home tour of South Africa which includes 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is.
