Indian Pacer Akash Deep Visits Ayodhya Ram Temple After Bangladesh Series Victory

Indian cricketer Akash Deep recently made a heartfelt visit to the Ayodhya Ram Temple, celebrating his team’s impressive 2-0 clean sweep against Bangladesh in the Test series. The right-arm pacer, who made headlines with his impressive debut earlier this year, took a moment to reflect on his journey and fulfill a long-held dream of having darshan of Lord Ram.

A Long-Awaited Pilgrimage

Akash Deep’s journey to the temple was not just about faith; it was a personal milestone. After the second Test held in Kanpur, he made his way to Ayodhya, where he could finally pay homage to Lord Ram. “I’ve been dreaming for a long time to have darshan of Lord Ram and especially since the day this temple was built,” he shared with ANI. Despite being unable to visit earlier due to cricket commitments, he often watched videos of Lord Ram in the temple.

Upon entering the temple, Akash expressed a profound sense of familiarity: “Today, I saw him but it didn’t feel like it was my first time; it felt like I’ve been seeing him every day. Lord Ram’s image has been added to my memory since I first saw the videos of him in this temple. I’m at peace now.”

Prayers for Team India’s Future

While many athletes visit temples with specific wishes or goals in mind, Akash Deep approached his visit with a broader perspective. He emphasized that his prayers were not for personal gain but for the continued success of Team India. “I prayed we continue to play the way we’ve been doing for the country and keep improving,” he stated.

His dedication to excellence is clear as he noted, “The way we are dominating world cricket across formats is an inspiration. It means future generations will have to continue working hard to maintain the standards.”

Akash Deep draws inspiration from cricketing legends like Sachin Tendulkar, whose dedication and humility have left a lasting impact on him. Despite his rising profile in Indian cricket—having taken eight wickets in three Tests—he remains committed to living a simple life. “My aim is to live a simple life and have the strength to keep working hard. Result is in God’s hands,” he remarked.
