Indian Premier League 2024 Orange Cap: Updated After Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Rajasthan Royals Eliminator

What a thrilling eliminator it was. After the thrilling group stage of the IPL 2024, now the tournament is witnessing the playoff games. In the eliminator game, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals locked horns at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match witnessed some amazing batting performances which impacted the orange cap race. 

RCB’s Batting Struggle:

After defeating Chennai Super Kings in their last group-stage game, Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator. While batting first, RCB faced some setbacks. Captain Faf du Plessis was dismissed scoring 17 runs in 14 balls. After Virat Kohli and Cameron Green were carrying the innings. But Kohli was dismissed in 33 runs. 

After Kohki’s dismissal, Rajat Patidar joined Green and kept boosting team’s innings. Cameron Green was dismissed on 27 runs in 21 balls and Patidar lost his wicket in 34 runs in 22 balls. Mahipal Lomror added 32 runs in 17 balls. Dinesh Karthik added 11 runs. In 20 overs, they managed to score 172/8. 

RR’s Batting Effort:

After dominating RCB in the first innings, they gave a good start while batting in the second innings. But Tom Kohler Cadmore was dismissed on 20 runs. Sanju Samsom also departed scoring 17 runs. But Yashasvi Jaiswal played an impactful innings of 45 runs in 30 balls.  But missed the half-century.

After that, Riyan Parag played an impactful innings of 36 runs in 26 balls. After Dhruv Jurel’s early departure, Shimron Hetmyer came to bat and played an innings of 26 runs in 14 balls. But Rovan Powell was amazed again. Coming to bat at the end, he played an unbeaten knock of 16 runs in 8 balls. His last ball six secured the game. They won the match by 4 wickets.
