Virat Kohli, the Indian cricket team captain finally completed 9000 T20 runs. He became the first Indian to achieve the feat.

Virat Kohli entered the match against Delhi Capitals with 8990 runs which was scored in 285 matches. Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer of IPL across all seasons and is currently playing 182 IPL games. Kohli is also the highest T20I run scorer with 2794 runs from 82 matches to his name. Overall, Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss from West Indies has the most T20 runs with 13296 runs in 404 matches. Kieron Pollard, the Mumbai Indians all-rounder is the second name in the list with 10370 runs in 517 matches. Shoaib Malik (9926), Brendon McCullum (9922), David Warner (9451) and Aaron Finch (9148) come next.

Virat Kohli was struggling with his form in the initial stage of Indian Premier League. The fans and experts were keeping an eye on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in every match he was playing. They were expecting him to reach the milestone in first couple of matches of the IPL 13. But that did not happen. Eventually Virat Kohli was seen roaring back in the match against Rajasthan Royals. He scored an unbeaten 72 to take the side to finishing line comfortably. After the match he was just ten runs away from this massive achievement.
Considering the form, he was all set to set this new record in this match at Dubai. Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to bowl first after winning the toss against Delhi Capitals. The Capitals scored 196/4. RCB got off to a poor start and had an early setback. They didn’t recovery from that and went on to lose the game.
