According to a recent news report, the auction of Indian Premier League 2020 will be organized in December this year. The tournament is scheduled for April in 2020 but the auction will be taking place this year.

A report on Mumbai Mirror claimed that the IPL 2020 auction would be done in December 2019. It also informed that this time it would be a mini-auction with a Rs 3 crore increment to the salary cap. So the team will be allowed to spend up to Rs 86 crore.
The news also threw light to Kings XI Punjab’s next possible coach. According to the report, the franchise has shortlisted four prominent names to take over the position of head coach. Former England coach Andy Flower, former Australia coach Darren Lehmann, Mike Hussey and George Bailey are the shortlisted ones for the high profile job. Since Mike Hesson resigned from the role and took over as team director of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the position has been vacant since then.
Bangalore eying maiden title
Royal Challengers Bangalore also finalised Australian Simon Katich as the team’s head coach whereas Shankar Basu is the strength and conditioning coach. Former India cricketer Sridharan Sriram is their newly appointed batting and spin bowling coach. Despite having stars like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle (for better part), RCB is yet to win an IPL. Kohli is the current captain of the squad. Even under him, The team has tried seven times for the victory with no ultimate result as such.
While asked about Kohli being the controller of the whole team and whether the team needs a new captain, Hesson clearly said that they have no perception as such and he will continue to lead the team. “We don’t have that perception that Virat controls things. But may be he has had his learnings from the past (mistakes) while moving forward,” Hesson said during a media interaction on Thursday.
