IPL 2020: CSK Players to Travel to Dubai Without Families

Reportedly Chennai Super Kings players will be travelling to Dubai without the families. The team will have to fly for Dubai in a chartered flight as there are no commercial flights allowed at this moment.

IPL 2020 preparations are on

IPL 2020 is just days away now. Preparations are at the final stage as everyone associated with the league is getting ready for the tournament to begin from September 19 in Dubai. According to a Times of India report, Chennai Super Kings players will be traveling without their families. A source revealed to TOI, “At least for the initial phase, the families won’t be travelling with the players.”

The SOPs set by the BCCI which is expected to be followed by the IPL franchises mention that family member cannot get close to the players during training and matches. So the decision is taken considering the SOPs which also say that the players should not interact with anyone outside the buddle.

CSK team to meet in Chennai on August 19

Chennai Super Kings will have to fly to Dubai in a chartered plane after assembling in Chennai on August 19. “No commercial flights are being allowed to fly out so CSK have to arrange for a chartered flight,” said the source. The team will be staying at a property near Burj Khalifa.

CSK might miss a few of their overseas player at the beginning of IPL 13 because of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) final which is on September 12 and the ODI series between England and Australia that will run till September 16. So players like Dwayne Bravo (Trinidad Knight Riders), Mitchell Santner (Barbados Tridents), and Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors) will be missed at the initial stage of the league. Apart from them England allrounder Sam Curran, Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood, Australia’s Shane Watson, South Africa’s Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi are expected to join the team later.
