#5 Amit Mishra can become the highest wicket-taker
The Sri Lankan maestro Lasith Malinga has been ruling the bowling charts for a number of years. With 170 wickets, he is the highest wicket-taker of all time in the IPL. But the Mumbai Indians speedster Malinga has pulled out the league this year. It provides an opening for others to topple him to reach the top.
At this point, the leg-spinner Amit Mishra is the only one who has a realistic chance of overtaking Malinga. Mishra, having 157 wickets from 147 games, is 13 wickets behind Malinga. The conditions in the UAE are expected to assist the spinners. If Mishra gets a decent run, we could well see him going past Malinga to become the top wicket-taker of the tournament.
