Delhi Capitals leg-spinner Amit Mishra didn’t find a place in the team for the 25th match of IPL 2021 against Kolkata Knight Riders. The captain Rishabh Pant mentioned at the time of toss that Lalit Yadav replaced Mishra in the playing XI.
The 38-year-old was out of the team because he suffered a shoulder injury. There is no update as of yet what the extent of the Injury is and whether he would be available for selection for the next match or not. Mishra played the first game this season against Chennai Super Kings. Even though his team won the contest but he gave away 27 runs in 3 overs.
Consequently, he was left out for the next two games. But when Delhi Capitals moved to Chennai, Mishra was slotted in straightaway against Mumbai Indians. He bowled a terrific spell and bagged 4 wickets for 24 runs. For that performance in his team’s victory, Mishra won the Player of the Match award.
In the two games that followed, he picked up a wicket in each game without conceding too many. His place in the team was even more important for the current and upcoming matches as Ravichandran Ashwin recently took a break from the league. However, the comeback of Axar Patel would be much more relaxing for DC. The franchise would hope that the leggie recovers and joins the team soon.
The campaign for Delhi Capitals has been pretty good so far. They have won four matches out of the first six. They would want to win the next few matches before facing the top teams at the latter stage of the tournament.
