Delhi Capitals are taking on Mumbai Indians in Chennai for the 13th match of Indian Premier League. Chris Woakes who has had a decent IPL so far misses the opportunity this time to get featured in the playing XI for Delhi Capitals.
Who says what
Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bat first. Disclosing the team after the toss Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians captain said, “We are gonna bat first. We have made one change because of the conditions. We have got one spinner instead of a spinner. Adam Milne misses out, we have got Jayant Yadav. Dew plays a factor for sure towards the the back end. The conditions look very similar to what it has been over the last few games that has been played here. This one looks a little more drier compared to the last few games.”
Pant, on the other hand, said, “We talked about that, that we are not gonna think too much about the toss. Yes we would have liked to bat first obviously but at the end of the day, the team which plays good cricket will win the match. We have made two changes. Meriwala and Woakes are not playing. Hetmyer and Amit Mishra come in.”
Why is Chris Woakes missing?
Chris Woakes who has had a good show in the league so far is not included in the side for such important match against Mumbai Indians. Clearly Amit Mishra has been included the side keeping the turning track of the ground in mind. Replacing Chris Woakes means fitting in another overseas player to the combination and since hence Shimron Hetmyer is called back.
