Sunrisers Hyderabad are taking on Punjab Kings at present for the 14th match of Indian Premier League. Manish Pandey has kept out of playing eleven for this match and Kane Williamson joins.

Punjab Kings won the toss against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing match of Indian Premier League. While disclosing the team, David Warner, the Hyderabad captain said, “Everyone in this franchise are positive – need to learn from the mistakes, those little things in the game. Kane Williamson is in, he replaces Mujeeb. Samad is out with a hamstring pull, Kedar replaces him, Manish misses out as well, replaced by Siddarth Kaul. Conditions over here are very different to what we encountered in Dubai last season. Need to bowl well and get back to winning ways.”
On the other hand, Punjab Kings skipper after winning the toss, opined, “We will bat first. Pretty obvious decision, put the runs on the board and defend it. Two changes for us – Meredith and Jhye Richardson miss out; Fabian Allen and Moises Henriques in – we are petty clear, everyone have been given responsibilities – we’re a new team this season, will take time for the roles to sink in for everyone. A couple of wins and the belief will be back.”
Why is Manish Pandey out?
It looks like the Hyderabad management wanted to play Kane Williamson which is why they have to keep Mujeeb Ur Rahman out of the combination for today’s match. They also decided to strengthen middled order by adding newly recruited Kedar Jadhav in place of Abdul Samad. The youngster reportedly has a hamstring injury. In this do or die match, Sunrisers Hyderabad did not want to spare any chance and went on to strengthen their bowling as well. Siddharth Kaul has been opted for therefore.
As far as Manish Pandey being out of today’s match is concerned, it is in all likelihood because they already have strengthened the middle order with two new options in Kane Williamson and Kedar Jadhav.
