IPL 2023 RCB vs KKR: Virat Kohli sets a new record in the IPL

Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday. Winning the toss, the Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to bowl first on a batting-friendly wicket.

At the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore played in Match 36 of the IPL 2023. The aim for the game was 201 runs. Jason Roy’s fast fifty, which included four fours and five sixes in his 56 runs off 29 balls, helped KKR reach 200/5 in 20 overs. For the visitors, Nitish Rana (48), Rinku Singh (18*), and David Wiese (12*) all contributed fast strikes. Wanindu Hasaranga and Vyshak Vijay Kumar both claimed two wickets for the RCB bowling unit, and Mohammed Siraj claimed a dismissal.

During Sunday’s match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Virat Kohli acquired the dubious distinction of becoming the player with the second-highest amount of “golden ducks” in the IPL. His eighth golden duck of the competition occurred against the Royals. According to the records, he is tied for second place with Sunil Narine and Harbhajan Singh. Rashid Khan continues to hold the record for having the most golden ducks, having been dismissed ten (10) times on the first delivery.

But today, Kohli was looking great from ball one. He was looking extremely fluent guiding the chase. But he picked the fielder perfectly where Venkatesh Iyer took a stunning catch to dismiss the RCB skipper. The Chinnaswamy Stadium went silent as they could not believe what had happened.
