The last match for the IPL 2024 season is going on at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai between the two finalists Sun Risers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders.
The two teams have finally come together for the final face off of the season, after 73 matches between all the teams that have participated and fought to get the trophy and the title of the IPL 2024 champions.
In the last 5 matches between these two finalists, KKR has won 4 matches, while SRH could only go ahead with 1 victory. The odds are in KKR’s favor, however we are yet to see who leaves today’s match as the ultimate champions of the season.
Mitchell Starc takes Abhishek’s wicket
KKR’s bowler Mitchell Starc has taken the wicket of SRH’s rising star and record-breaking opener, Abhishek Sharma in the very first over of the match. Stark bowled and took a clean wicket that led Sharma out of today’s match as a batter.
Abhishek had earlier scored 125 combined runs in the powerplay along with Travis Head for SRH. Losing Sharma’s wicket is definitely a liability for SRH.
IPL commentator and analyst Harsha Boghle has hailed Stark’s bowling and called it “the ball of the tournament”.
Sharma was able to score only 2 runs after which he lost his wicket. The star batsman had also lost his wicket in the early overs of SRH’s last match, against Rajasthan Royals on Friday. However, SRH won that match and fans are still hopeful for today’s fixture.
