India is suffering from high cricket fever in this IPL season. On Sunday, the fever rose more because of a doubleheader. In the first half, fans witnessed a clash between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers. In the second match, Chennai Super Kings faced Sunrisers Hyderabad. Those blockbuster matches shattered the points table. In this article, we will explore the changes in the points table.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Dominance on Gujarat Titans:

In the 45th match of the IPL 2024, Gujarat Titans faced off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Batting first, Gujarat Titans lost their early wickets, but Sai Sudharsan and Shahrukh Khan formed a strong partnership, scoring 200 runs in 20 overs. However, RCB’s bowlers, led by Siraj, managed to break their momentum, limiting them to 200/3.

In the second innings, RCB, after a solid start, witnessed an outstanding performance from Will Jacks, who scored a century in just 10 balls. Alongside him, Virat Kohli played a crucial unbeaten knock of 70 runs, leading RCB to a comfortable victory by 9 wickets. Despite the Gujarat Titans’ strong batting display, their bowling unit struggled, conceding too many runs, leading to their defeat.

Chennai’s Hard Luck and Hyderabad’s Struggle:

In a thrilling encounter at the M. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad clashed in the second match of the day. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck early by dismissing Ajiyanka Rahane for just 9 runs. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell steadied the ship with a formidable partnership. Mitchell’s crucial half-century and Gaikwad’s impressive 98 runs laid a solid foundation for CSK, but their bid for a century was halted by T. Natarajan. With Shivam Dube’s late flourish, CSK posted a formidable total of 212/3 in their allotted 20 overs.

The comprehensive victory of 78 runs reaffirmed Chennai Super Kings’ dominance in the IPL, while Sunrisers Hyderabad faced another setback in their campaign.
