IPL 2024 Points Table: Updated After Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Match No. 55

The 55th match has been registered successfully in the record book of the IPL 2024. In that match, Mumbai Indians locked horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The match witnessed some exceptional performances. The result brought some notable changes in the Points table.

Mumbai’s Remarkable Comeback and SRH’s Struggle:

Chasing a target of 174 runs, Mumbai Indians stumbled early on, losing three quick wickets. Ishan Kishan departed after scoring just 9 runs, followed by Rohit Sharma, who managed only 4 runs, and Naman Dhir, who fell for a duck. By the fifth over, Mumbai Indians were reeling at 31/3, requiring a substantial partnership to stabilize their innings. Suryakumar Yadav rose to the occasion, delivering a match-winning performance with an unbeaten 102 runs off 51 balls, providing the much-needed impetus to the innings. Tilak Verma provided solid support, contributing an unbeaten 37 runs off 32 balls.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling effort faced challenges as Marco Jansen struck early to dismiss Ishan Kishan, but Pat Cummins’ vital wicket of Rohit Sharma briefly halted Mumbai’s progress. Despite early breakthroughs, SRH struggled to contain Mumbai’s batting onslaught, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar also picking up a wicket. Ultimately, Mumbai Indians emerged victorious by 7 wickets, showcasing their dominance in the match.

Changes in the Points Table:

After a thrilling match, Sunrisers Hyderabad is still standing on the fourth spot of the points table. On the other hand, Mumbai climbed up to the ninth position and Gujarat Titans slipped into the last position.
