IPL 2024 Purple Cap: Updated After KKR vs RCB and PBKS vs GT Match No. 36 and 37

Sunday delivered yet another thrilling doubleheader for cricket fans, featuring two captivating matches. Kolkata Knight Riders clashed with Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens, while Punjab Kings battled Gujarat Titans in the second game. Both encounters showcased remarkable bowling performances, causing significant shifts in the Purple Cap leaderboard.

Bowling Magic in KKR vs RCB Match:

In the first match of the day, Kolkata Knight Riders faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their home ground. While batting first, KKR batters gave tough competition to the RCB bowlers but they showed character. Yash Mohammed Siraj got the first success for the team after dismissing Phil Salt. After that, Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were dismissed on two fine deliveries by Yash Dayal. Cameron Green took 2 wickets in 35 runs. Mohammed Siraj and Lockie Ferguson took 1 wicket each.

While chasing the target of 222 runs, RCB lost two quick wickets to Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. After that, Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar made a crucial partnership. But Andre Russell broke that partnership and dismissed both of them. He end

ed up taking three wickets in 25 runs. Harshit Rana took 2 wickets in 33 runs. Mitchell Starc and Varun Chakravarthy ended up taking 1 wicket each. They registered a close win of 1 run.

Bowling Brilliance in PBKS vs GT:

The second match of the day between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans experienced some exciting bowling performances. While bowling first, the Gujarat bowlers were on fire. Sai Kishore was outstanding. He took 4 crucial wickets in 33 runs. Mohit Sharma and Noor Ahmed, both got 2 wickets each. Rashid Khan took 1 wicket in 15 runs. They restricted PBKS to 142 runs. 

In the second innings, PBKS tried well to dominate the opponent. Arshdeep Singh got his first success after dismissing Wriddhiman Saha. Harshal Patel was excellent with the ball. He took 3 wickets in 15 balls with an economy rate of 5.00. Liam Livingstone took 2 wickets in 19 runs. Sam Curran took 1 wicket. Their effort fell short. Gujarat Titans won the match by 3 wickets.
