Another thrilling day of IPL 2024 record right from the Dharamsala in the 58th match of the IPL 2024, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Along with some batting masterclass, some exceptional bowling efforts grabbed attention. Those performances brought some changes to the Purple Cap list.

Punjab’s Exceptional Bowling Effort:

In this thrilling encounter, Punjab Kings’ skipper Sam Curran chose to field first after winning the toss. Their bowlers made early inroads into the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batting lineup, with Vidhwath Kaverappa striking early to dismiss Faf du Plessis and Will Jacks. This early breakthrough added pressure on RCB, but Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli steadied the innings with a crucial partnership. However, Patidar’s dismissal by Curran disrupted their momentum. Later, Cameron Green’s promising innings was cut short by Harshal Patel, who showcased brilliant bowling with three crucial wickets.

Kaverappa and Curran also chipped in with two and one wicket respectively, limiting RCB to 241/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Despite RCB’s efforts, Punjab Kings’ bowlers, led by Curran and Patel, put up a disciplined performance, preventing their opponents from posting a mammoth total. With key breakthroughs at crucial junctures, they successfully restricted RCB’s scoring opportunities and set a challenging target for their own batting lineup.

RCB’s Tremendous Bowling:

In the second innings, RCB bowlers rolled their arms to bowl. In the very first over, Swapnil Singh dismissed Prabhsimran Singh on 6 runs. That was an early setback. But after that, Punjab battered tried to bounce back. But Lockie Ferguson dismissed Jonny Bairstow. Rilee Rossow, who was making impact in the game was dismissed Karn Sharma.
