The Indian Premier League has established itself as a sporting powerhouse worldwide. According to Brand Finance’s 17th IPL 2024 assessment report, the league’s brand value surged by 13% this year, reaching an impressive $12 billion. Having surpassed the $10 billion mark for the first time in 2023, the IPL now stands among the elite global sports competitions.
Franchise teams have also broken new ground, with four of them—Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)—crossing $100 million in brand value for the first time.
CSK Leads the Pack with $122 Million Valuation.
Chennai Super Kings topped the rankings with a brand valuation of $122 million. They have recorded a massive 52% growth. Close behind were Mumbai Indians at $119 million (+36%) and Royal Challengers Bangalore at $117 million (+67%). RCB have achieved the highest growth rate among the top three.
KKR secured fourth place with a valuation of $109 million. They have seen a 38% increase. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) followed, recording the largest overall growth with a 76% jump, reaching $85 million.
Brand Growth Across All Teams.
The 2024 assessment showed brand value growth across all IPL franchises. Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals also saw significant increases, with valuations of $81 million (+30%) and $80 million (+24%), respectively.
Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, two of the league’s newest teams, demonstrated steady growth. Gujarat’s valuation rose to $69 million (+5%), while Lucknow achieved $60 million (+29%). Meanwhile, Punjab Kings secured the tenth spot, posting a 49% increase to reach $68 million.
