Mumbai Indians, after their victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 7th game of IPL 2019, have risen to the 5th spot in the points table. After their heavy loss to Delhi Capitals in the first game, they were languishing at the bottom. But their first win of the season sees them climbing the ladder.
On the other hand, RCB remains winless as they have lost both their matches so far. They have slipped from No.6 to No.7 on the points table. There are no changes in the top 4 as Kolkata Knight Riders remain at the pole position.
At Chinnaswamy, RCB and MI produced a high-scoring thriller. Batting first, MI made 187/8 due to a collective bowling effort. Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the bowlers as he took 4 wickets. In reply, the hosts were in the game until the last over. AB de Villiers played a superb knock of 70 from 41 balls but his efforts were outdone by the brilliance of Jasprit Bumrah who bagged 3 wickets for just 20 runs.
