Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings will be facing each other for the 11th match of Indian Premier League 2021. It will be the second match of first double-header of this IPL. This will be also the last match of these two sides at the Wankhede Stadium. Both teams started the season with a win but then were defeated in the second encounter. This is going to be important match for both sides as both will be aiming to come back to winning ways. Both of these teams depend on their fast bowlers and have some of the best in the business.
Kagiso Rabada featured in the second match of Delhi Capitals, took two wickets conceding 30 runs in his four overs. In his last over alone he gave away 15 runs but he was facing a deadly Chris Morris. Morris singlehandedly chased down the runs required at the end for Rajasthan Royals. Moreover, Rabada was playing his first IPL match of the season. But Rabada was the highest wicket taker in last IPL with 30 wickets in 17 games at an average of 18.26 including two 4-wicket hauls. Rabada had huge contribution in taking Delhi Capitals to their maiden IPL final. He will be in focus throughout the season and if Delhi Capitals was another memorable season, Rabada will be an important cog.
Mohammed Shami already has four wickets to his name from first two Punjab matches at an average of 13.50. He has maintained an economy of 6.75 and given important breakthroughs whenever required. In the first match, he dismissed two openers at the initial stage of Rajasthan innings which almost decided the fate of the match for the Royals chasing down 222 runs. The second match saw him scalping the wickets of two major middle order batsmen of Chennai Super Kings. Shami sent back Suresh Raina and Ambati Rayudu in consecutive deliveries in the 15th over. He might have missed the hattrick and the low scoring match saw CSK claiming their first win of the season but Shami’s worth was proved again.
