Ireland Women Shine in Latest ICC Rankings After ODI Series Win Over Sri Lanka

Ireland’s women’s cricket team has made significant strides in the latest ICC Women’s Rankings following their impressive performance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. With a 2-0 lead, Ireland clinched the series, and several players have seen notable improvements in their individual rankings.

Orla Prendergast, Leah Paul, Amy Hunter, and Arlene Kelly were among the standout performers for Ireland. Prendergast’s unbeaten century in the opening match propelled her nine places to 28th in the ODI batters’ rankings. Leah Paul, who earned Player of the Match honors in the second game, moved up four spots to 29th. Amy Hunter also climbed ten places to 34th.

Sri Lankan players also made gains, with Nilakshika Silva, Kavisha Dilhari, and Vishmi Gunaratne improving their positions. Arlene Kelly saw the biggest jump among the bowlers, moving three spots to 27th after her three-wicket haul in the second match. Dilhari also rose five places to 30th among bowlers and six spots to 17th among ODI all-rounders.

In the T20I rankings, the recent 1-1 series draw between Sri Lanka and Ireland saw further changes. Sri Lanka’s Harshitha Samarawickrama moved up three places to 13th among T20I batters after scoring consecutive half-centuries. Ireland’s Gaby Lewis also made a significant jump, moving four spots to 21st after her century in the second match.

Both Dilhari and Prendergast made advancements in the T20I all-rounder rankings, moving to 15th and 17th, respectively.
