In a match between India Champions and South Africa Champions, a bizarre incident unfolded when brothers Irfan and Yusuf Pathan had an on-field spat due to miscommunication. This disagreement ultimately led to a run-out, costing the Indian team the game.
The heated exchange between the siblings highlighted the tension and pressure of the match, resulting in a critical mistake that impacted the team’s performance and outcome.In the 19th over, Dale Steyn bowled a slower length ball.
Irfan Pathan attempted a slog but mistimed it, resulting in a top-edge towards long-off. Although a fielder had a chance for a direct catch, Dane Vilas intervened, caught the ball, and swiftly threw it towards the non-striker’s end.
After Irfan Pathan was halfway down the pitch, he couldn’t make it back in time, leading to Dale Steyn catching the ball and disturbing the bails. Irfan urged Yusuf to go for a double but Yusuf refused. In frustration after his dismissal, Irfan Pathan lashed at his elder brother for not attempting the second run as he walked back towards the pavillion.
