Ishant Sharma to Feature Soon in IPL

Delhi Capitals are already looking in shape and now they are ready to welcome their veteran member Ishant Sharma. Reportedly the ace bowler has recovered from the injury and is fit to make a comeback.

What’s the update on Ishant Sharma?

Ishant Sharma could not play first three games for Delhi Capitals following a heel Niggle. As the coach of Ricky Ponting had mentioned after first game of DC, “Ishant Sharma has had a heel niggle in the first game that’s why he missed out.” Now as per sources, he is ready to get back to the filed again after recovery. “He was struggling with a heel niggle, but he is good to go now. Had to take it slow and easy as we have a long road ahead of us and he is an integral part of the bowling attack,” the source revealed.

Ishant Sharma is the senior-most Indian bowler Delhi Capitals have. He had a good IPL 2019 with the side where he had taken 13 wickets at an economy of 7.58. However, Sharma has been struggling with fitness during IPL over last few years. During last season he could feature in only one game. If the sources to be believed, he will be soon available for selection. But Delhi Capitals have not confirmed anything yet.

Plethora of fast bowlers

With Ishant Sharma back in the squad, Delhi will have a bunch of pacers available in Chris Woakes, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Lukman Meriwala, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Avesh Khan. Khan who replaced Sharma went on to pick up six wickets in first three games. It is going to be good brainstorming session for Delhi Capitals choosing their fast bowlers for playing XI.

Delhi Capitals will be playing their next match against Mumbai Indians. Mumbai defeated Delhi in the IPL 2020 final and Delhi Capitals would be motivated enough to take a revenge. However, the venue is more known to Mumbai as the defending champions have played in Chepauk, Chennai earlier.
