In this match, the entire team showcased their excellence. Pooran scored 98 runs in 53 balls. Johnson Charles scored 43 runs in 27 balls. Depending on those batting efforts, West Indies scored 218/5 in 20 overs. Even in the bowling, they dominated the opponent. Obed McCoy secured 3 wickets, and Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie secured 1 wicket each.
After that exceptional win, Powell reflected on that. He said, “It feels good (to win 8 games in a row). It shows the hard work we have put in in the last year or so. The guys were excited to come here, we knew it would be one of the better batting wickets.”

In this match, Nicholas Pooran shone brightly. His outstanding innings of 98 runs greatly bolstered the team’s total score. He achieved this impressive feat in just 53 balls, boasting an exceptional strike rate of 184.91. Pooran’s innings included 6 boundaries and 8 sixes, contributing significantly to the team’s strong performance. His explosive batting played a pivotal role at a crucial stage, ensuring West Indies set a formidable target for their opponents. On the other hand, Obed McCoy also bowled well by picking three crucial wickets.
While praising Pooran and McCoy, he said, “ It is on the back of hard work, Nicholas has had a good 12 months not only in franchise cricket but for West Indies as well. It is a good headache to have (McCoy picking 3 wickets).”

While talking about this, he said, “ We started the tournament with a little advantage as we are playing at home and know the conditions. When I started my journey we were ranked 8 or 9 and now we are 3 in the world.”
