“It feels good” Rovman Powell Reflects on Thrilling Victory and Unbeaten Winning Streak

The group stage of the T20 World Cup has ended with an incredible encounter between West Indies and Afghanistan. Both teams were locking horns in their last encounter of the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. But West Indies displayed their excellence and registered a huge victory by 104 runs. After the thrilling victory, the West Indies skipper Rovman Powell reflected on the win.

In this tournament, West Indies showcased an amazing form. They are going to the grand stage of the Super Eight. They were unbeaten till the last eight games. In this match, the entire team showcased their excellence. Pooran scored 98 runs in 53 balls. Johnson Charles scored 43 runs in 27 balls. Depending on those batting efforts, West Indies scored 218/5 in 20 overs. Even in the bowling, they dominated the opponent. Obed McCoy secured 3 wickets, and Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie secured 1 wicket each. 

After that exceptional win, Powell reflected on that. He said, “It feels good (to win 8 games in a row). It shows the hard work we have put in in the last year or so. The guys were excited to come here, we knew it would be one of the better batting wickets.”

In this match, Nicholas Pooran shone brightly. His outstanding innings of 98 runs greatly bolstered the team’s total score. Pooran’s innings included 6 boundaries and 8 sixes, contributing significantly to the team’s strong performance.
