‘It’s Not Always Easy To Take Such Decisions’: Paras Mhambrey On Shami’s Dismissal

Former Indian cricketer Paras Mhambrey opened up about Mohammad Shammi’s ousting from Asia Cup matches except the one against Nepal. Mhambrey showed his concern over the board’s decision to bench Mohammad Shami in the Asia Cup 2023.

Talking about Shami’s bowling performance, Mhambrey spoke about the fact that he has been phenomenal for team India. His great display and keen dedication to his performance speak enough of his capability leaving opposition batsmen amazed.

Embarking onto Finals

Team India has made it to the finals after successive victories against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The win against Pakistan by a margin of 226 runs came down hard on Babar’s men. India is the only team which has smashed its neighbouring countries in all the Super 4 clashes it has played till now.

Talking about India’s Playing XI in the finals, the management has decided to go for ace bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj as both of them have shown great efficiency.

Shami’s one chance to play in the Asia Cup

Earlier, during India’s match against Nepal, Bumrah was replaced with Shami as the former had to attend his new born’s delivery. Also, Bumrah had just recovered from a long standing back injury, so he’s expected to bowl in the upcoming ODI World Cup.
As of now, Shami has played just one match in the Asia Cup season 2023 following Bumrah’s truancy. This was against the Himalayan country Nepal when Shami took one wicket by conceding 29 runs.

Indian Cricket team’s bowling coach added that, these pick outs are not always easy to decide upon. The Management takes such decisions only after proper discussions with the team and that they are always enforced for their betterment.

India will be facing Bangladesh tomorrow in its second last Super 4 clash of the Asia Cup. It is yet to see who among Pakistan Or Sri Lanka makes up to the finals alongside India.
