The veteran cricket official will preside over his 250th Men’s One Day International (ODI) during the Asia Cup 2023 clash between India and Nepal in Pallekele on Monday. Javagal Srinath’s cricketing career spanned over decades and included numerous achievements. As a former India fast bowler, he showcased his prowess in 67 Test matches, accumulating 236 wickets, and participated in 229 ODIs, amassing an impressive tally of 315 wickets. Srinath’s contributions to the Indian cricket team, especially during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2003, are etched in the annals of cricket history.
In a pivotal transition, Srinath stepped into the role of an ICC Match Referee three years after concluding his playing career. His passion for the game and his deep understanding of cricketing nuances made him a natural fit for the position.
