After Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s (SRH) 6-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2024, pacer Jaydev Unadkat emphasized the importance of unpredictability in bowling. Unadkat, who picked up one wicket and conceded 29 runs in his four-over spell against CSK, highlighted the need for bowlers to vary their lines and pace. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Unadkat noted that the pitch at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad favored slow deliveries, requiring bowlers to adapt to the conditions. He stressed the importance of being unpredictable to succeed in such conditions.

“I think from what we have seen so far both the wickets where the slow balls were sticking into the pitch and It’s about adapting to the conditions. I think the conditions were suitable for those sorts of deliveries… as a bowler, you have got to be unpredictable in terms of lines and pace,” Unadkat said.
Recapping the match, CSK batted first and posted 165/5 in their 20 overs, with contributions from Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ajinkya Rahane. In response, SRH chased down the target with ease, thanks to Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and Nitish Reddy.
With this win, SRH climbed to the fifth spot in the IPL points table with two wins and two losses in four games, while CSK sits at the third spot with the same win-loss ratio but a better run rate.
