Building Confidence Through Game Time

Rodrigues, known for her touch play, emphasised the importance of real match scenarios over practice sessions.

“These are the matches that I’m actually going to get before going and playing proper team matches [T20 World Cup],” she stated during a media interaction organised by FanCode.

Having had a roller-coaster international career since her debut in 2018, Rodrigues is keen to test herself in competitive environments, which she believes offers the best preparation for high-pressure moments.

Rodrigues has a track record of bouncing back stronger from challenging phases, as seen in 2021 when she revived her form playing for Northern Superchargers in the Hundred.

Her performances in the WCPL, she hopes, will similarly set the tone for the T20 World Cup.

Adapting to New Roles and Responsibilities

Rodrigues’ role in the Indian team has evolved, with head coach Amol Muzumdar slotting her at No. 5 to stabilise the middle order.

However, in the WCPL, she is likely to bat at No. 3, a position that aligns more with her natural game.

“It’s very important to assess the conditions quickly and know which shots work for me on a slower track,” Rodrigues said, highlighting her adaptability in different roles and conditions.

For Rodrigues, this stint with TKR isn’t just about winning matches but also about gaining valuable experience that will serve her well in the World Cup.

“I’m just looking forward to playing these matches, and I’m very excited for that,” she added.
