Another thrilling Zim Afro T10 Cup edition has been wrapped up successfully. After having an exceptional tournament, Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers and Cape Town Samp Army faced each other in the final showdown of the series. The Harare Sports Club witnessed one of the most thrilling final matches ever. Cape Town Samp Army was about to clinch the victory but Tinashe Muchawa’s final four deliveries changed the game.
Exceptional Death Over by Muchawaya:
While defending the target, the Bangla Tigers had a shaky start. Adam Milne’s first over was expensive and the opponent batters used the situation perfectly. Dawid Malan and Bennett entered the final match in great form, displaying confidence at the crease. Malan faced Tinashe Muchawaya and decided to shift gears, resulting in an explosive over for the Samp Army. With three sixes and two boundaries, they scored 27 runs in that over, putting pressure on the opposition.
As the final over approached, Tinashe Muchawaya took the ball, and Jack Taylor stepped up to bat. Taylor started strong, hitting two boundaries in a row off the first two deliveries, boosting the Samp Army’s hopes. However, Muchawaya quickly turned the game around in the remaining four balls.
The Samp Army needed nine runs to win from the last four balls. Malan managed a single on the third ball, while the fourth was a dot. On the fifth delivery, they added one run through a leg bye. Unfortunately, on the final ball, they only secured one more run. In the end, the Cape Town Samp Army fell just five runs short, missing out on the trophy by a narrow margin.

The Bangla Tigers Secured the Trophy:
Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers gave a great start as the second edition of the Zim Afro T10 approached. Throughout the tournament, they showcased excellence. Along with the dominating form, the Bangla Tigers faced the Cape Town Samp Army. in the thrilling final match, Bangla Tigers batted first.
While batting first, they gave a good start as the opening partnership stood for 59 runs. Mohammad Shahzad scored 44 runs in 25 balls. On the other hand, Kusal Perera added 33 runs. Hazratullah Zazai was dismissed scoring 19 runs in 11 balls. In the 10 overs, they scored 129 runs after losing 5 wickets.
While bowling in the second innings, their bowlers suffered. They conceded too many runs. Captain Sikandar Raza conceded 20 runs and ended up securing no wickets. Karim Jannat conceded 21 runs and remained wicketless. Adam Milne secured 2 wickets by conceding 18 runs in 2 overs. Tinashe Muchawaya remained wicketless but his death over brilliance sealed the trophy. The Jo’Burg Bangla Tigers ended up being the winner of the second edition of Zim Afro T10 Cup.
