Jofra Archer and Cameron Green Excluded from IPL 2025 Auction; James Anderson Makes the Final Cut

The IPL 2025 player auction is set to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Notably, England fast bowler Jofra Archer as well as Australian All-Rounder Cameron Green, will not be part of the final player list. This decision comes as a surprise to many fans, given Archer’s and Green’s reputation and previous performances. The reason for Jofra Archer’s absence remains a mystery.

The final list comprises 574 players, including 366 Indian and 208 overseas players. While Archer’s absence raises eyebrows, veteran bowler James Anderson has made the cut at age 42. The ten participating teams have a total of 204 slots to fill, with 70 reserved for overseas players.

Cameron Green’s Injury Rules Him Out

Another significant omission is Australian all-rounder Cameron Green. Recently traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from Mumbai Indians (MI) for a staggering INR 17 Crore, Green underwent surgery for a long-term lower-back stress fracture. This injury has sidelined him for six months, including the entire Australian summer, leading to his exclusion from the auction list.

Initially, 1,574 players registered for the auction. However, this number has been reduced by 1,000, resulting in a final list of 574 players. Among these are:
