Jonty Rhodes Shared His Thought on Rohit Sharma:

While praising Rohit Sharma, Jonty Rhodes highlighted Sharma’s genuine demeanor and his engaging personality both on and off the field. He said, ” Rohit Sharma is a very approachable guy, he is so relaxed in the crease – stayed true to himself, it has been good to see his journey, you hear his funny comments on microphone, very cheeky guy”.

He also noted that while Rohit Sharma might not possess the same technique as cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, his skills are still impressive. He acknowledged that Sharma has faced criticism for his footwork, but emphasized that these critiques are part of the broader discourse around his game. Despite this, Sharma’s unique style and contributions to the sport remain significant.

He added, “ I mean he hasn’t changed at all it’s so ridiculous you know. I just picture his walk when he walked out to bat and he would have a few throw-downs in the net or even shadow-hitting you know it was just majestic so he didn’t practice as hard as such. Maybe he practised away from the nets at times, but just his technical ability and I think he doesn’t always have the best technique.”

He further said, “ He’s been criticized, not a lot of foot movement, but because he’s so relaxed at the crease, his hands flow so well, and it’s been great to see him because he stayed, you know, he stayed the same and he stayed true to himself. Rohit Sharma is still the same guy, he hasn’t changed a bit, it’s so ridiculous – messes around the team mates, funny guy & players don’t feel stressed under his captaincy”
