“Just to try and keep things simple” Liam Livingstone Shares Bowling Strategy for England’s Success

In a thrilling semifinal match, Team India faced off against England after a rain-delayed start. Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, England aimed to control India’s strong batting lineup. Opening with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, India faced early setbacks with Kohli departing for just 9 runs followed by Pant’s dismissal for 4. However, Rohit Sharma anchored the innings with a composed 57 off 39 balls, supported by Suryakumar Yadav‘s brisk 47 off 36 balls, setting a competitive total of 171/7 in their allotted 20 overs.

On the other hand, While bowling first, the English bowlers tried hard to dominate. Reece Topley secured their maiden breakthrough by dismissing Virat Kohli. After that. Rishabh Pant was dismissed in a delivery of Sam Curran scoring 4 runs. Chris Jordan thrived in this situation. He secured 3 wickets in 37 runs. Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, and other bowlers got 1 wicket each.

The competition in the semifinal got tougher. Both teams are locking horns with their excellence. Liam Livingstone bowled well despite not securing any wickets. He conceded 24 runs in 4 overs and ended up securing no wickets. After the first innings, he talked about their performance. He said, “Just to try and keep things simple (on what was said by Buttler to him), bowl into the wicket, keep it straight and make them hit to the longer boundary.”

While talking about the condition, Livingstone said, “The pitch is staying low and slow, we knew that, let’s see how it does in the second innings, hopefully we’ll chase it down, have a lot of firepower in that dressing room, I hope we’ll go past the line.”
