Kabaddi Has Changed Everything: Guman Singh’s Inspiring Story

Guman Singh, one of the standout young raiders in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 10, has been signed by the Gujarat Giants for INR 1.97 Crore, making him one of the eight crorepatis from the season 11 auction. Although he initially had a passion for cricket, Guman’s life took a significant turn in 2014 when his uncle recognized his kabaddi talent and the PKL began, rapidly gaining popularity.

Guman, who moved to train at the Narwal Kabaddi and Sports Academy at just 15, faced initial challenges living away from his family but dedicated himself to training. His efforts led to his big break with the Jaipur Pink Panthers in PKL season 7. Despite limited playtime, he valued the experience and learned essential skills.

In season 10, Guman shone for U Mumba, scoring 163 raid points, the highest for his team. His subsequent move to the Gujarat Giants has him optimistic about the upcoming season, which starts on October 18 in Hyderabad. He aims to contribute significantly alongside teammates like Parteek Dahiya and Rakesh.

Reflecting on his journey, Guman expressed gratitude for the opportunities kabaddi has provided him, allowing him to support his family and secure a job with the Railways. “Kabaddi has given me everything,” he stated, acknowledging the transformative impact of the Pro Kabaddi League on his life.
