India’s wicketkeeper batter KS Bharat was felicitated by the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association on the eve of the Second Test against England at Vizag. Bharat who made his international debut for India in 2023 is considered one of the finest glove-man in the Indian domestic circuit
His keeping skills were on show during the First Test against England at Hyderabad where the pitch assisted the spinners. Bharat was Sharp behind the wicket and did a fine job keeping against the likes of Ashwin and Jadeja.
The Ceremony
Bharat who will be playing his first International match on his home ground was felicitated by Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association on the eve of the match. Talking about the ceremony Gopinath Reddy secretary of ACA said
“Yes, we have planned a felicitation ceremony for KS Bharat. It will happen here in the stadium itself on the Upper Floor of the South Stand. We requested a time for 2nd Feb, but the Indian Team management has given time for the 1st, so we will be doing the felicitation on Thursday.”
ACA has also invited BCCI president Roger Binny for the felicitation ceremony.
In the words of Reddy, “We have invited BCCI Secretary Mr. Jay Shah ji and the President and Vice president when we all met at Hyderabad recently. We requested their presence here at Vizag and we also hope to lay the foundation stone for an indoor net here. Even though we have not received confirmation, we are hopeful that he will come here,” he added.
The Performance
Although KS Bharat possesses an impressive First Class record. The right-hander has scored over 5000 runs in first-class cricket with 10 centuries and 27 half-centuries. He is yet to prove himself with the bat at the highest level
