Labuschagne Asks the Toughest Question to Gill During the Match at SCG

Marnus Labuschagne has made it to the headlines quite a few times after getting a second chance in international cricket. Today was no exception. He was seen enjoying keeping wickets and having a fun time on the field with Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma.

Labuschagne teases Gill

Last time it was Rishabh Pant who, as a chatterbox entertained everyone while keeping wickets in Tests between Australia and India. Today Marnus Labuschagne was seen almost doing the same. Gill who was batting in his second Test match and facing deadly Aussie bowling had to deal with banter from Labuschagne. Labuschagne asked Gill who his favourite player is. Remember, the question was asked between deliveries of Mitchell Starc’s second over. Labuschagne might just be wanted to have fun but the interaction was baffling enough for the youngster. The keeper went ahead and asked Gill to choose between Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.

“Who’s your favourite player?” Labuschagne asked. Gill replied, “I will tell you after the match.” Labuschagne was not satisfied with the answer and further questioned, “After the ball… Sachin? Do you reckon Virat?”

Labuschagne continues

Labuschagne did not stop there. He kept on talking. When Rohit Sharma came on strike, Labuschagne asked him how Sharma had spent his quarantine. Rohit Sharma made a comeback to playing XI in this Test match after spending 14-day quarantine in Australia. “Hey what did you do in quarantine?”

The exchanges were indeed funny and the commentators had a good laugh as well. However, the two batters could not end the day for India unbeaten. Gill got his first half-century in this format off 100 balls. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma added 26 off 77. Cheteshwar Pujara and captain Ajinkya Rahane are on the crease at present with 9* and 5*. Indians are 96 for the loss of two wickets at the end of day two.
