The Indian Men’s Cricket Team is currently on their World Cup 2023 campaign with being the only team that stands unbeaten in the ICC Rankings table. The final match of the World Cup is to be played on November 19 while just within a week of the conclusion of the big tournament, India will face Australia in a five-day T20 International series during November end. The question is after the conclusion of the ODI World Cup, who will take on as the official trainer of the Men in Blue during the T20I series.Â
Dravid on the end of his course
The current head coach of Indian Cricket Team, Rahul Dravid’s contract with the BCCI will come to an end after the conclusion of the tournament. While he can continue with being the team’s coach after the end of his course, BCCI will have to re invite applications for the position owing to its rules and regulations regarding the same.Â
Though it will be quite interesting to see if Rahul Dravid will choose to return to the esteemed position, a few names have been considered following Dravid’s decision to remain out of the league which will involve intense travel and pressure on him. One such name is Indian legend cricketer VVS Laxman, who has been considered as a very strong candidate for the appointment as the head coach.Â
Expressing on the possibility
While quoting VVS Laxman’s name for the reappointment, a BCCI source quoted “VVS Laxman has always been in charge when Rahul had taken a break and the same thing is likely to continue for the series just after the World Cup.” While the ODI series is scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam, if VVS comes on board, the batting coach is expected to be Sitansu Kotak.Â
