TOUGH CHANCE BUT DROPPED! Short of a length delivery outside off. Mitchell Owen slashes hard and it bursts through the hands of Tom Andrews at the backward point region. It further rolls toward deep third for a couple of runs.

WIDE! Back of a length delivery angled down the leg. Mitchell Owen tucks and misses. Wide to start the innings.
Welcome back for the second essay. The players and umpires return to the park. Mitchell Owen and Matthew Wade stride out to open for the Hobart Hurricanes. It will be Mohammad Hasnain with the ball for the Sydney Thunder. Here we go!
...THE RUN CHASE...
Hobart Hurricanes, in contrast, will be satisfied with their disciplined bowling performance. Riley Meredith set the tone early by dismissing Sam Konstas, and every bowler played their part in maintaining control. Meredith finished with two wickets, while Billy Stanlake, Chris Jordan, and Nikhil Chaudhary each picked up one. Peter Hatzoglou was also pretty economical in the middle overs. Skipper Nathan Ellis sustained a head injury but showed resilience by staying on the field, though he was targeted by David Warner in the final over. Now, it's up to their batters to finish the job and propel the team to the top of the table. Join us in a bit for the second essay.
Sydney Thunder had a tough start, losing Sam Konstas early and failing to find the boundary even once during the Powerplay. Their struggles continued as runs were hard to come by, with David Warner anchoring one end but unable to accelerate freely. The skipper forged vital partnerships with Oliver Davies and Sam Billings, keeping the innings alive. Billings injected much-needed momentum with a quickfire 28 off 15 balls, while Warner utilized the Surge and stayed unbeaten on 88, guiding his team to a competitive total.
A finish with a flurry for Sydney Thunder! David Warner collected 16 runs off the last overs to push the total over the 160-run mark. He remained unbeaten on 88 off 66 balls - his second-highest individual BBL score, and will hope the bowlers step up big time now. However, Hobart Hurricanes would have taken this total at the start of the game, and with the wicket still good for batting, they will feel confident about hunting this down.

Fuller on the leg stump. David Warner makes room and drills it towards long on. The batters are off for a brace right from the start. Tim David at the fence throws it wide at the non-striker's end. Warner puts in the dive to complete the last run. 17 runs came off the over.

DROPPED! A tough chance though! Banged in short, outside off, slower through the air. David Warner gets on the back foot to drive it. Tim David flies to his right, gets a hand on it but fails to hold on to it. The batters run through for a brace.

NO BALL AND FOUR! Oh, my word. What is happening here? This one is a full toss above waist height. David Warner flicks it towards mid-wicket and beats the fielder as the ball goes on the bounce and over the ropes. Looks like it must have slipped through the hands of the bowler. However, in the replay, it looked like Warner moved back in his crease and the ball was dipping under the waist. This could turn out to be a big call!
George Garton is the next man in.
OUT! RUN OUT! Dan Christian sacrifices his wicket here! Nathan Ellis bowls a good yorker, on middle, David Warner tucks it towards deep mid-wicket and calls for two straightaway. However, Charlie Wakim quickly charges onto the ball and throws it at the bowler's end where Ellis collects and breaks the stumps with Christian nowhere near the crease.
