Khulna Tigers captain and Player of the Match, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, expresses his delight in delivering a strong performance after a challenging period. He admits feeling uncertain following a poor outing in the previous game but is pleased to have bounced back. Mehidy acknowledges the difficulty of bowling effectively in T20 conditions and appreciates the opportunity to contribute to his team's success.
... TIME FOR PRESENTATIONS ...
Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s all-round captaincy, supported by Abu Hider's incisive spells, sealed Khulna’s well-earned victory. Perera’s heroic knock was the second century of the day, following Usman Khan’s earlier in the afternoon. This commanding performance solidifies Khulna’s position as a strong contender in the tournament.
Dhaka Capitals captain Thisara Perera reflects on his maiden T20 century, describing it as a dream come true, though bittersweet as it came in a losing effort. He expresses satisfaction with his performance but acknowledges the team’s shortcomings. Perera notes that they controlled the game until the 16th over of the first innings but conceded too many runs in the death overs. He emphasizes the need for the top-order batters to step up in upcoming matches.
Dhaka's chase began disastrously, as skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz struck twice in the third over, dismissing Litton Das and Stephen Eskinazi off consecutive deliveries. Abu Hider compounded Dhaka’s troubles in the following over, removing the aggressive Tanzid Hasan. The collapse continued when Hider struck again in the final over of the Powerplay to send Shahadat Hossain back. At 31/4 after six overs, Dhaka Capitals found themselves in deep trouble. Despite the grim outlook, Perera lit up the closing stages with some spectacular hitting. Benefiting from a dropped catch by William Bosisto late in the innings, he went on to reach a stunning maiden T20 century off the final ball of the match. His unbeaten 100 provided a silver lining to Dhaka’s innings but wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
Earlier in the game, the Khulna Tigers managed to score 173 runs, thanks to a strong finish from their lower-order batters, who hit 43 runs in the last three overs. They started well with a 49-run partnership between Mohammad Naim and William Bosisto for the first wicket. However, after Naim's dismissal, the team faced a batting collapse, losing wickets frequently and finding themselves at 93 for 6 in the 13th over. Mahidul Islam Ankon and Ziaur Rahman steadied the innings with a crucial partnership, and Abu Hider Rony's explosive 21 runs off 8 balls helped push the total past 170.
The Khulna Tigers showcase their dominance yet again, claiming their second consecutive victory of the season with a 20-run win over Dhaka Capitals. Defending a target of 174, the Tigers put on a clinical performance with the ball and in the field.

FOUR! Thisara Perera gets to a brilliant HUNDRED but his team loses the game! Full and at the stumps. Perera drills it straight along the carpet for a cracking boundary. Khulna Tigers win the match by 20 runs.

An appeal for LBW and the umpire is unmoved. Mehidy Hasan sends it upstairs. Full and at the off and middle stump. Thisara Perera presses forward and probably gets the thick inside edge of the bat onto the pads. The replay is here and as expected the UltraEdge indicates a clear spike when the ball is close to the inside edge of the bat. The on-field decision is upheld.

FOUR! Onto 99 now, Thisara Perera! Nagging length on the off-stump, and turns away from the batter. Perera charges down and drags it to cow corner region for a boundary.

SIX! WHAT A SHOT! Full and at the off stump. Perera gives himself some room and lofts it over long-off for a 75-meter six. Moves onto 95 with that!

Nails a yorker on the stumps. Thisara Perera looks to flick the ball but gets an inside edge onto the ground that bounces back to the bowler. The players appeal for a catch and the Umpires refer it upstairs. The big screen shows that its a bump ball and the decision is held NOT OUT.

DROPPED! William Bosisto drops a sitter!  Fuller and an off-cutter outside off. Perera stays deep and whips towards deep square leg where William Bosisto fumbles it down on the ground. The batters run a couple of runs.
