Right then, that ends yet another action-packed day in the Abu Dhabi T10 League which has seen four matches and at the end of the week, two teams are still unbeaten. Next up on Monday, 25 November, three more matches are scheduled beginning with a clash between Team Abu Dhabi and New York Strikers at 5 pm IST (11.30 am GMT). You can join us an hour an advance though for the build-up as well. Cheers!
Rohan Mustafa, the captain of Morrisville Samp Army starts by thanking the Almighty and then credits the bowler for pulling things back. Adds that they thought they would be chasing 125 plus but the run chase became much easier and goes on to applaud Faf du Plessis for the way he played and his form is crucial for them.
Faf du Plessis is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his fiery and match-winning knock. Faf mentions that if you get yourself in, the ball does travel if you hit it off the middle of the bat. Further mentions that he was trying to take advantage of the short boundary square of the wicket. Add that he is always learning and in cricket and how to play the T10 format. Concludes by saying that he is glad that he came back for the season and was able to play that kind of innings.
The Presentation ceremony...
Earlier in the game, Morrisville Samp Army won the toss and Rohan Mustafa put Chennai Brave Jaguars into bat. The bowlers answered Mustafa's call and did well initially to keep the runs in check but in the middle overs, Dan Lawrence took control and it looked like Chennai would get to somewhere around 120-130 but Morrisville pulled it back brilliantly with the ball and with their fielding in the last 3 overs. In reply, it was just carnage as Morrisville walloped to yet another win.
For Chennai Brave Jaguars, the lone wicket-taker was Oshane Thomas picking up Sharjeel Khan. Every other bowler went for the cleaners in all parts of the ground all thanks to a blistering innings from Faf du Plessis. They didn't have a big total on board but wouldn't have expected to be blown away like this as they have now suffered a hat-trick of defeats to begin the campaign.
After a decent first-wicket partnership of 27 runs, Sharjeel Khan departed and Faf took on the role of the aggressor and was looking to go back to his hotel as soon as possible. Chasing down the total with 18 balls to spare, Morrisville Samp Army has one eye on the net run rate as they now go on 8 points, the same as the Gladiators who have 4 wins from 4 as well.
A match that flowed only one way and that was towards Morrisville Samp Army. The destroyer in chief was Faf du Plessis, hitting some flaring and stylish looking shots right throughout his innings, striking at almost 300 as he ended on an unbeaten 76 off 26 balls. Charith Asalanka gave him decent support after the loss of Sharjeel Khan but it was truly a one-man show.

Slower one, bowled full on off, Faf du Plessis with an open stance just nurdles the ball through mid on and races back for the second run and that will be it. Morrisville Samp Army have done it in a hurry and win the game by 9 wickets to go four from four.

Very full and around off, Asalanka bunts the ball down to long off and picks up a single.

A big swing and a miss there from Asalanka! Pitched up wide of the off stump, Asalanka looks to hammer it over extra cover but misses.

WIDE! Full and wide again, gets the length right but the line is still just too wide outside off.

WIDE! Looks for the wide yorker but bowls a full toss instead and this one slips past the tramline as well.

100 up for for Morrisville Samp Army. Full and in the blockhole on leg, Faf du Plessis jams it off the toe end of the bat and the ball rolls off the pads to the off side for a single.

FOUR! Just one big hit away now the Army from victory. Full and sliding down leg, easy picking for Faf du Plessis as he tickles it wide of short fine leg for another boundary.

FOUR! That's gone through the gap as well! Short and outside off, a bit slower, Faf du Plessis looks to cut and gets a bit of an outside edge in between short third and backward point as the ball rolls away to the fence.
