That is all from this game! Melbourne Renegades have picked up some serious momentum with two win now. Time for the Christmas break before we are back with action. Join us on the 26th of this month for two games! Sydney Sixers will take on Melbourne Stars first. Join us at 12.35 pm IST (7.05 am GMT) and earlier for the build up. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
Tom Rogers is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says the game got close but feels Cooper Connolly played a brilliant innings on this tricky pitch. Tells the outfield hs been similar for the last few years, but the footing on the outfield is fine! Shares there was excitement leading into the season, they have a good squad, it was disappointing to lose the first game but they are now heading into Christmas with some momentum.
Perth Scorchers got back into the game once Ashton Agar was introduced into the attack. The seamers leaked runs at the top and Perth Scorchers leaned onto the spinners to get the breakthroughs. Agar was superb, Cooper Connolly was decent and even Ashton Turner rolled his arms to get a wicket but we feel, another 15 runs would have made a massive difference to the game. Earlier, Cooper Connolly and Matthew Spoors' partnership helped Perth Scorchers put on a par total which eventually wasn't enough.
Well, it got much closer than Melbourne Renegades would have hoped for! It was not an easy pitch to play and even though Melbourne Renegades kept Perth Scorchers under 150, it was still a big target to chase it down. The skipper was the hero for Melbourne Renegades. His presence was a must as they needed someone with calmness to chase it down. However, Will Sutherland had enough time under his belt thanks to quick fiery knocks from Tim Seifert, Jacob Bethell and Laurie Evans at the top. Their innings did help Will Sutherland to take his time and chase it down.
