Right then, that's a wrap Perth has won this by 33 runs. The next game of BBL 2024/25 is scheduled to be played between Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes on 27th December at 8.15 am GMT. You can join us an hour early for the pre-match build-up. Until next time, cheers!
Nick Hobson IS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. Hobson says he did get a good platform from the batters above the order. Mentions that being the finisher it sometimes lands straight to the fielder and at times the ball flies all around the park. Reckons that Ashton Agar set the tone in the second inning with his fielding display and the side pounced on that opportunity.
Earlier in the game, the Perth Scorchers had a slow start, losing Finn Allen for a duck and struggling early. Despite late efforts from Ashton Turner and Nick Hobson, they set a total of 165 runs, a decent recovery from their initial struggles. Hobson's quickfire knock of 47 off just 16 balls helped them reach to that target. Brisbane Heat bowlers excelled at the start but lost momentum towards the very end, with Spencer Johnson being the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets and remaining economical as well.
The bowling of Perth Scorchers deserves massive credit for this lethal bowling display to which the Heat's batting unit succumbed. Jason Behrendorff, Matthew Kelly and Andrew Tye took two apiece whereas Lance Morris and Ashton Agar took on each. The batters of Heat had no reply to the disciplined bowling of Perth and the eventually lost the game by 33 runs.
Another one of those games where the Perth Scorchers bowling has won them two points. Despite posting a mediocre total on board the bowlers did a splendid job and restricted the Brisbane Heat batters to just 132. Only Max Bryant and Matt Renshaw got into double figures rest all departed without touching the double-figure mark.
