TOM ROGERS IS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH FOR HIS ALL-ROUND PERFORMANCE. He says that it was a topsy-turvy week for them. Shares that the game did not go well for him against the Stars but he is glad to perform today with Sutherland by his side. Adds that it was a do-or-die game tonight and he is happy that they pulled it off. Mentions that they did some good work against the Stars at the MCG and with Perth being of a similar dimension, the team could execute it today and get the win.
Earlier in the game, the Perth Scorchers staged a strong comeback, scoring 147/8, thanks to Ashton Agar's impressive half-century. Despite Finn Allen's aggressive start, the Renegades took early wickets, including three in the powerplay. Agar and Jhye Richardson regrouped during the Power Surge, increasing the scoring rate. Adam Zampa took three wickets for the Renegades but couldn't prevent Agar from securing vital runs, leaving the Renegades disappointed towards the end. The Scorchers have slipped to number six in the table while the Renegades move up to the seventh position after a much needed win.
The Perth Scorchers were superb with the ball for the first half of the chase. The bowlers did a terrific job to reduce the Renegades batters to 10/4 inside the first five overs and were on top for most of the game. Jason Behrendorff, Lance Morris, and Jhye Richardson all snapped two each and did a splendid job but Kelly, Agar, and Connolly leaked 75 runs in less than eight overs which proved to be a game-changer.
Phew! We've witnessed a humdinger at Perth. Melbourne Renegades have prevailed in a tight finish at the Perth Stadium and defeated the Scorchers by four wickets with two balls to spare. The Renegades were down and out of this chase at the halfway mark where they were reduced to 47/5 and the injury to Jonathan Wells meant that the task going to be a steep one for Sutherland and the lower-order batters. The Renegades skipper showed his mettle and stepped up big time to add an outstanding 92-run stand for the seventh wicket with Tom Rogers that paved the way back for the visitors. He was unfortunately dismissed for 70 off 45 balls in the penultimate over but Tom Rogers with an unbeaten 49 off 31 balls, kept his calm and took the Renegades home in a thriller of a contest.

NO BALL! Anti-climatic start to the over. High full toss above the waist. Rogers his it toward backward point where the catch is taken but the umpire signals it a NO BALL. Free hit coming up.
Matthew Kelly will bowl the final over. He has a huge responsibility to defend this. Can he do it or the Scorchers or will Tom Rogers take the Renegades home?

Pitched full on off. Rogers bunts it to mid-on for one. A direct hit from the fielder would have had curtains for Rogers.
