UPDATE - 6.34 am GMT - Oh no! We just got the news from the middle and it's not something we were counting on. The bat flip has been delayed as the rain gods are not in a good mood today. But let's hope that it's a passing shower. Stay tuned for more updates!
On the other hand, the Heat started their season well but have fallen off the radar with three back-to-back losses from their five games so far. They lost their last game against the Stars by 5 wickets after making 149 with the bat. Max Bryant played an outstanding knock of 77 off just 48 but the rest failed. With the ball, Xavier Bartlett bowled a sensational spell of 4/10 but Stars kept their nerve and came out on top. So, can the Heat pose a challenge to the strong Sixers unit? We shall find out. Toss and team news in a bit. Stay tuned!
The Sixers suffered a rare loss in their previous outing against the Hurricanes. Bowling first, the Sixers kept the Hurricanes to 161 but faltered with the bat and were dismissed for just 111, losing by 50 runs. Jackson Bird was impressive with four wickets while Jordan Silk and Moises Henriques got a good start but failed to kick on. The home side will look to bounce back and get their fifth win of the season.

... MATCHDAY ...
The stage is set for a thrilling clash as Sydney Sixers lock horns with defending champions Brisbane Heat, a rematch of last season’s grand finale! The Sixers, the most consistent team this season, stumbled in their last game, suffering a heavy defeat after four straight wins. While their middle order has been quiet, the openers, James Vince and Josh Philippe, remain in red-hot form, both featuring in the top five run-scorers of the tournament. The likes of Kurtis Patterson, Moises Henriques, and Jordan Silk will be itching to step up and deliver when it matters most. The bowling unit is their trump card. Ben Dwarshuis, the league’s leading wicket-taker, spearheads the pace attack with Hayden Kerr and Jackson Bird providing ample support. Meanwhile, the spin duo of Akeal Hosein and Todd Murphy adds versatility and depth, making the Sixers a formidable unit. On the other hand, Brisbane Heat are under immense pressure after three consecutive losses. Skipper Colin Munro is in dire need of form, still searching for his first double-digit score of the season. Tom Banton and Nathan McSweeney need to fire at the top, while the middle-order trio of Max Bryant, Matt Renshaw, and Paul Walter carry the team’s hopes with their ability to score quickly. Their bowling attack remains potent, with Spencer Johnson and Xavier Bartlett leading the pace department and the spin combo of Mitchell Swepson and Matthew Kuhnemann ready to trouble the Sixers’ batters. It’s a must-win for the Heat to reignite their campaign, while the Sixers seek redemption and a return to dominance. Will the Heat rise from the ashes, or will the Sixers do the double over them? Let’s find out in this blockbuster showdown!
