After wrapping up the Test series against Bangladesh, Team India is on their next mission. They are facing New Zealand in a three-match Test series. As the first Test is going on at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Team India’s batting order faced troubles. They got all out in just 46 runs and registered a shameful record. After such a poor display by the Indian side, former England cricketer Micheal Vaughan took a sharp dig at Team India.
Team India’s Batting Disaster:
After a dominant Test series win against Bangladesh, Team India is facing New Zealand in a three-match Test series on home soil. After the first day of the first Test match was washed out at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the game resumed on day 2. After winning the toss, Team India opted to first. While batting first, Team India’s batting order got broken.
They got all out in just 46 runs. That was a devastating performance. Captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed scoring only 2 runs. Along with Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin were dismissed on ducks. Rishabh Pant registered the highest score of the innings scoring 20 runs in 49 deliveries. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 13 runs.

New Zealand’s bowlers, Matt Henry and Will O’Rourke, dismantled India’s batting lineup. Henry achieved an impressive five-wicket haul. Along with that, O’Rourke took four wickets for only 22 runs. Tim Southee also contributed with a wicket, conceding just eight runs. Their outstanding performances stole the spotlight and showcased the Kiwis’ dominance on the field.
Micheal Vaughan’s Dig at Team India:
In December 2020, India was bowled out for just 36 runs against Australia in Adelaide, marking their lowest total in Test cricket. Former England captain Michael Vaughan seized the moment to mock the Indian side. He humorously remarked that Indian fans should feel grateful their team managed to score more than 36 runs this time around.
Vaughan said, “Look on the bright side Indian fans .. at least you have got past 36.” That post grabbed attention on the internet.
India is having some real struggles at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. After getting all out on such a low total, they are also struggling with the ball. Kuldeep Yadav secured the first wicket for the Indian side. He dismissed Tom Latham in 15 runs. But Devon Conway is playing exceptionally well. After scoring an exceptional half-century, he is batting on 90 runs in 102 balls. New Zealand is leading the first innings with 102 runs.
