Australia’s Luke Williams has taken over a new charge in WPL. Royal Challengers Bangalore has signed this WBBL winning as their head coach in WPL. Williams was the Coach of Adelaide Strikers. In the season 2022-23, they won the WBBL. RCB has signed him for their upcoming season of WPL.

Luke Williams was the coach of Adelaide Strikers in the 2022-23, season. In that season they own the title. In the previous two seasons, they became the runners-up. Not just that When he was the the assistant coach of Southern Brave for The Hundred Women’s League, they won the title. He has also worked with Soth Australian Scorpions in the Women’s National Cricket League in Australia.
RCB’s situation in the previous season:
In the previous season, Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Smriti Mandhana with a Whoping amount of INR 3.4 Crore. This was a season’s expensive buy. But this season was not a memorable season for them. They managed to win only two matches in eight group-stage matches.
Due to this poor performance, they failed to reach the qualifiers. They had a quite strong team in that tournament. Players like Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, and Heather Knight were a part of that team. Smriti Mandhana was the captain of RCB in this season of WPL. Even though she was not in good form. He scored 149 runs in eight seasons. Her highest score of this season was 37.
The expectations were high. But they failed to win that title. By winning the last two matches of eight group stage matches they finished the season in fourth position. In August, Mike Hesson left the post of director of cricket of RCB from both sides. Before the new season, RCB signed Luke William and they are also looking forward to starting the season freshly.
