In the women’s singles SU5 event at the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024, Manisha Ramadass of India defeated Cathrine Rosengren of Denmark to win a bronze medal on Monday, September 2. By winning the third-place playoff match with a score of 21-12, 21-8, the 19-year-old paraathlete from Tamil Nadu made history by being the first Indian female shuttler to earn a medal at the Paralympics.
Because both players were adamant and shown their abilities, the first game ended up being fiercely disputed. Manisha made several saves to preserve game points, but she was unable to take advantage of the openings she generated. The opening set was won by Murugesan 23–21. Manisha got off to a great start in the second game, leading 11–10 at the half. Murugesan took full advantage of her opponent’s errors.
